Your plants are more than décor—they're living, breathing parts of your home. But moving them can be tricky, especially if you want them to thrive in their new space.
Plan Ahead
Start preparing plants 2-3 weeks before your move. Prune dead leaves and repot any plants that have outgrown their containers.
Water Carefully
Water plants a few days before the move—not the day of. This prevents soil from being too wet or too dry.
Use Proper Containers
For local moves, keep plants in their original pots. For longer moves, consider using boxes with air holes or specialized plant containers.
Protect from Temperature Extremes
Plants are sensitive to heat and cold. Transport them in a climate-controlled vehicle when possible.
Secure Plants During Transport
Place plants in open boxes to keep them upright. Use packing paper to cushion between pots.
Unpack Plants First
Upon arrival, unpack your plants right away. Give them water and place them in a spot with appropriate light.
Allow Time to Acclimate
Plants may look droopy after a move. Give them a few weeks to adjust to their new environment.
